Why We Built Stream Alert

Indian live streaming is booming. Millions of creators stream on YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, and Facebook every day. But there was a fundamental problem: none of the existing donation alert tools were built for India.

Here's the reality Indian streamers faced:

• Streamlabs and StreamElements support PayPal and Stripe for donations — but most Indian viewers don't have PayPal. They have Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm.
• YouTube Super Chat takes a 30% cut. A ₹100 Super Chat means the streamer gets only ₹70.
• Manual QR codes work, but without on-screen alerts, there's no incentive for viewers to donate. The streamer has to manually check their phone and thank donors, breaking the flow of the stream.
• Bank account freezes are a real problem. Streamers receiving many small UPI transactions to personal accounts risk their bank flagging the account for suspicious activity.

What Stream Alert Does

At its core, Stream Alert does one thing exceptionally well: it turns UPI payment notifications into on-screen donation alerts for your live stream.

When a viewer sends you money via Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm:

1. Your phone receives a payment notification.
2. Stream Alert reads the notification and extracts the donor name, amount, and message.
3. An alert instantly appears on your live stream showing the donation.
4. Optionally, the donation message is read aloud via Text-to-Speech in Hindi or other languages.
5. Your viewers see and hear the alert, feel motivated, and more donations follow.

The entire process happens in 1–3 seconds. No manual checking, no switching between apps, no interruption to your stream.

Key Features

UPI Payment Detection

Stream Alert automatically detects incoming UPI payments from Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. It reads the payment notification, extracts the sender's name and amount, and triggers an alert. No API integration needed — it works through Android's notification access system.

Business Account Support

We built Stream Alert with Business accounts in mind from day one. It supports both personal UPI and Business UPI accounts, including:

• Google Pay Business (GPay for Business)
• Paytm for Business

Business accounts are critical for Indian streamers because they offer higher transaction limits, better privacy (donors see your business name, not personal name), and protection from bank account freezes that can happen with personal accounts receiving many donations.

Text-to-Speech in Indian Languages

Stream Alert supports TTS in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, and English (India). Donation messages are read aloud on stream, creating engagement and encouraging repeat donations.

How It Works

Is my data safe?

Stream Alert reads only UPI payment notifications — it does not access your messages, photos, contacts, or any other personal data. The notification data is processed locally on your phone and only the donation details (name, amount, message) are sent to trigger the on-screen alert.

Does it work on iPhone?

Currently, Stream Alert is available on Android only. iOS does not allow apps to read notifications from other apps, which is a core requirement for UPI payment detection. We're exploring alternative approaches for iOS support in the future.
