How to Moderate Donation Media From Discord or Telegram (2026)
Letting viewers put media on your stream is fun until someone abuses it. Stream Alert lets you hold uploads for approval and approve or reject them from Discord or Telegram, without ever tabbing out of your game.
TL;DR
- Turn on approval and viewer uploads (images, voice, sound) wait for your tap before they play.
- Connect a Discord or Telegram channel and each held tip posts there with Approve and Reject buttons.
- Your own uploaded media skips the queue, because you already vetted it.
- Approve fast, or the moment is gone.
The freedom needs a brake
Handing strangers an image slot and a microphone on your live stream is exactly as risky as it sounds. The point of letting viewers be creative is the fun of it, but that only works if you can kill the ugly stuff before it reaches your audience. So Stream Alert holds viewer uploads for your approval, and gives you a fast way to say yes or no from wherever you already are.
Turn on approval
- In your Stream Alert dashboard, open the moderation settings for the tip page.
- Turn on approval for uploads. From now on, a viewer image, voice note, or sound is held until you allow it.
- Text-only tips and your own library media still fire instantly, so you are only reviewing the risky stuff.
Connect Discord or Telegram
- In the moderation section, generate a connect code.
- In your Discord or Telegram, run the connect command with that code to link a channel.
- Add the moderators who are allowed to approve, so only trusted people can tap the buttons.
Once linked, every held tip posts to that channel with the donor name, amount, message, and the media, plus Approve and Reject buttons. Tap Approve and it plays on stream. Tap Reject and it never appears, and the file is deleted.
Why this beats a dashboard queue
A moderation queue you have to sit and babysit in a browser tab is a queue you will switch off by week two. Doing it from Discord or Telegram means your mods can handle it from their phone, mid-stream, without you leaving the game. Moderation only works if it is easy, so we made the safe path the lazy path.
One tip: approve quickly. A voice note approved ninety seconds after it came in has lost its moment. Keep the review a glance, not a chore.
FAQ
Do my own uploads get held too?
No. Items from your own media library play instantly because you vetted them. Only viewer uploads go through approval.
Can more than one person moderate?
Yes. Add multiple moderators by their Discord or Telegram ID, and any of them can approve or reject.
What happens when I reject something?
It never plays on stream, and the uploaded file is removed.
